Ritual Practice
Ritual Practice is a top-down, cosmic horror adventure game. You play as Aida, a cartographer that sets out to map out dark, uncharted woods. However, light and darkness do not behave naturally in this place, and she soon discovers a strange artifact with unforeseeable consequences...
Ritual Practice is made as part of the course “Game World Design” at the ITU. I made this game together with five other students and I was one of the two programmers on the team. This game is made in Unity, using C# and we used Rewired for input.
Some of my responsibilities were:
Prototyping camera transitions using Cinemachine
Implementing and animating UI elements
Implementing map logic: as Aida is a cartographer, a map is being updated whenever she discover a new area.
Implementing journal logic: a journal is being updated throughout the game as Aida writes down her thoughts about what she finds in the woods.
Implementing tutorial systems
